No Child Left Behind
This disastrous program is leaving every child behind. This program is an excellent example of why a central, federal government should never be allowed to micromanage. This program should be repealed, and teachers should be again permitted to teach.

Local Control
Schools must be controlled first and foremost by parents and by elected school boards on the local level. Washington should not control our schools.

Religion in the Classroom
It is very important to teach children about religion -- in their social studies classes. Religion, including "intelligent design," should not be taught in science classes, however. Science is not incompatable with religion, but science is the study of things that can be tested and measured, and religion is about that which must be accepted on faith.

Community Colleges
Rather than raising tuition, why don't we reduce the cost of running our schools by eliminating bureaucracy, modernizing purchasing and financial transactions, and empowering schools to manage their own budgets without government strings attached?

School Vouchers
Decisions about school vouchers (and other plans to partially or completely privatize education) must be made on the state and local level, and not be dictated by Congress.
